5 Brands Whose Riding Tights & Leggings I Love
Riding leggings and tights, in my view, are an amazing contribution to equestrian fashion. Not only are they super comfortable to ride in, but they’re also ideal for yoga. Not sure which to go for? Here are five brands whose tights I know and love:
1 Ariat
Some nice riding tights available now at Ariat, with prices varying up to £110 (and some on sale). I have this style: Eos Moto Full Seat Tight, which I love because they’re super sleek (almost like a second skin) and they have a full seat silicone grip, designed to help you stick to the saddle. They also have lovely ribbing down the sides and they’re generous on pockets — with one on each leg and one at the back of the waist.
2 Fouganza (Decathlon)
I’m a fan of Decathlon’s riding leggings because they’re a nice fit and not too expensive (online prices up to £39.99 currently). I have to give special mention to these Women’s Horse Riding Leggings 100 Light – Navy, which are really reasonably priced, last ages and come in two styles. They’re not designed for winter, and they don’t have a sticky bum, but they’re perfect for yoga and they feel great in the saddle. They also have a decent thigh pocket.
Riding tights are lightweight and stretchy, making them ideal for use on your mat, as well as in the saddle.
3 Shires’ Aubrion
Shires’ Aubrion riding tights range in price up to £59.99, and the ones I’ve tried in the past always have a comfy slim fit. Currently I have some similar to these Aubrion Dutton Riding Tights (they’re a bit worn now) but there are other options to choose from online. I personally like the look of these Aubrion Porter Winter Riding Tights-Ladies for the cold weather because they’re described as “thermal” and “fleecy on the inside” but they don’t cost the earth.
4 Just Togs
Another good option if you want to spend a bit less are the Just Tights from Just Togs, priced at £34.99. I wear mine all year round (I squeeze thermals underneath in the colder months) and they’re really quite durable — I’ve worn/washed them many times. The design is also flattering and they have a blingy (but somehow discreet) glittery logo down one thigh. The only downside is that they don’t have pockets. However, they do have rings for a belt to go through, which seem to be less common on riding tights.
5 Le Mieux
And last but not least, Le Mieux, costing up to £69.95. I am in love with these — Summer Pull On Breech Grey — which I luckily managed to find in the sale. They are super smooth and shiny, feel fabulous and come in a range of colours. Like the tights from Ariat, they also have a full seat silicone grip and a pocket on each leg. And they have options for summer and winter.
