This trip could be the perfect option if you’re looking for a shorter break with the chance to improve your riding fitness and dressage, while experiencing Portuguese equestrian culture in a tranquil setting.

About Monte Velho Equo Resort:

Monte Velho is a family-run, Lusitano stud farm located in the region of Alentejo. It offers a mix of classical dressage tuition and trail rides for those looking to improve their riding skills, explore the Portuguese countryside and enjoy a peaceful few days away from it all.

The resort boasts modern accommodation with luxury and standard rooms, as well as a swimming pool, garden, jacuzzi, sauna, gym and treatment room for massages. It has three arenas for lessons, including one indoor and outdoor school normally used for beginner and intermediate sessions, plus an Olympic-sized, open-air arena.

The horses are all well-schooled Lusitanos, a breed known for its gentle temperament and amazing agility – making Lusitano horses ideal for dressage. Experienced instructors at Monte Velho have regular coaching with the world’s most renowned trainers and can cater to different riding levels and abilities.
